Annexation

Asked the council to hold a community conversation with residents about whether and where annexation of properties beyond city limits would be appropriate, before any proposals come forward.

Asked whether city management still commits to not impeding organizing, citing reports of intimidation; later spoke in favor of the Lanham Boys Club annexation while objecting to closed-session handling of annexations.

Supported the annexation but sharply criticized council discussing annexations in closed session; suggested public discussion of future annexation ideas.

Asked again for a fuller explanation of closed-session discussions about proposed annexations, noting one session referenced tonight may involve annexation.

Asked for more information on closed sessions about annexation and questioned the RTA contract, which was pulled from the consent agenda as a result.
